is pleased to present its first event of the year,
A Special Evening Musicale
at 8:00 on Friday, January 11, 2008 in Palo Alto, California
This Musicale will include vocal and instrumental performances of
ca. 1800 compositions, dance tunes, and popular songs. The
evening includes op****tunities for all to participate in group
singing of songs and rounds. In addition to seating, there will
be space provided for dancing whenever musical selections inspire
you to get up and waltz or allemande (a polka-like dance).
James Langdell will introduce the performances by members of the
Divertimento Dance Orchestra and others, and tell stories about
music in this era. To encourage dancing throughout the evening,
some brief instructions for waltzing and the allemande will be
provided.
If you are interested in playing or singing any solo selections
as part of this program, please contact Mr. Langdell
(650-504-8046 or langdell@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
) for further information
and to arrange for musical accompaniment, if desired.
