Pelosi et al told us they would stop the war, which would have prevented
much of the rise in oil prices, as the resulting Dollar wouldn't have
fallen
as much as it has. Had the Republicans in Congress not thwarted the Dems
efforts to end the war, yada yada...you know the argument. In any event,
the
fault doesn't fall to Pelosi or the Democrats, it remains with the current
administration.
BTW, I'm no fan of Pelosi. I wish I lived where I could help vote her out.

New refineries haven't been constructed for some 30 years. Nevertheless,
they are still only at 80% capacity. We don't need new refineries, nor do
the oil companies want to build them. As to not drilling in certain other
places, ecological reasons continue to take precedence, as many of us
believe they should. Tax credits? Do we have any idea the magnitude of tax
credits already provided to the oil companies? Exxon made $14 billion
profit
in the 1st quarter of 2008. You want to give them more tax credits?
At any rate, it doesn't seem to me to make a lot of sense to blame Pelosi
or
the Democrats for high gasoline prices. Put the blame where it
belongs...the
plunging Dollar and why it's dropping even faster than Bush's approval
ratings.
Meet me at the Bicardi party. Let's tip a couple, and then discuss this
further. :-))
