I don't think that anyone is 'arguing' over Flynn's unique style of
dancing
Hustle as much as they are commenting on his motive for complaining about
the current music trend in Hustle.

I see only one individual engaging in argumentative blather in this
thread,
and that's Flynn. An observant reader would take note that when Flynn is
offered advice, or asked to amplify on a suspect statement, he responds
with
an insult, prefaced with an ad hominem statement -- an age-old, yet
ineffective debating technique. Sun Tzu said it well: If one senses one is
in a weak position, one should act strong. Flynn is the walking, albeit
clumsily, example of weakness trying to feign strength, though it doesn't
work for him.

I empathize with your frustration (bg), but I can't point you to a YouTube
video. From what I'm told, you can replicate Flynn's style by using the
following timing:  &&2a a2&a3, etc. Under no cir***stance should you dance
&123...not if you want to emulate Flynn.

My understanding from Flynn's posts, elucidated by several well-known
Hustle
teachers, dancers and competitors, all of whose capabilities I'm certain
are
held in high esteem by yourself and your and their other peers, is that
the
dance tempo has slowed down in order to accommodate the more sophisticated
and complex Hustle figures/patterns that have recently developed. They
simply can't be danced properly at higher tempos. Apparently, Flynn is
incapable of doing the more advanced figures.

Flynn has a wide reputation for extremely poor timing and resulting lousy
dancing. He's been informed of it by top pro teachers and judges. He is
also
known to reject any and all criticism of his dancing by casting aspersions
on the person offering the criticism. 

The best example of Flynn's rejection of valid criticism was his encounter
with Skippy Blair, which he chose to take public. At Flynn's request,
Skippy
critiqued his dancing, and told him he was off-time. His response was that
Skippy didn't know what she was talking about...how could she possibly
criticize his timing when she didn't know his patterns. 

Apparently, because of his poor timing, he is unable to execute the more
complex figures, nor can the students he teaches. Consequently, they don't
win competitions, which is, of course, why he's whining. Instead of
listening to the critical reviews of his errant dancing, Flynn blames the
music, and in the instant discussion, he unsuccessfully feigns concern for
the future of the dance, because the music tempo is too slow to encourage
young dancers to enter the Hustle scene.

(I find it interesting that younger dancers are attracted to WCS, in large
part because of the dance's complexity and difficulty.)

Flynn argues for his proficiency by pointing to competition results. I did
the Google search he suggested, and found the following:

Apparently, there were only three couples in the contest. This is the same
asshat^h^h^h^h^h^h individual who joined a Swing contest and danced
Hustle,
because there were only two other WCS competitors, but the event
guaranteed
cash awards to the top three finishers. He still finished out of the
money!

Now, would someone please start another discussion, so this isn't the only
active thread.
